The first time I went to this ice cream shop, my boyfriend and I walked all the way from Redington Shores. He complained the couple miles but took it back the second he tried the Pecan Praline. He said it was the best ice cream he had ever had, and I completely agree. This most recent trip, we decided to drive, and we went twice in 4 days. The girl behind the counter recognized us and remembered what we had ordered the last time. Everyone who works there is incredibly friendly. It is a little pricey, but the scoops are beyond generous. The pecan praline is amazing, but my personal favorite is the almond joy. The coconut ice cream base is somehow both creamy and light at the same time. We also tried the chocolate peanut butter cup and chocolate almond. Both were also delicious and very rich in the best way. I know this place is a few blocks from the beach, but it is more than worth the little walk (even a couple mile walk). Couldn't recommend it more!

This place is unbelievably overpriced. The ice cream is good, but not at all worth what they are trying to gouge you for.

We had a fun morning at the beach followed by an awful lunch at a so-called steak house. We were looking for something that was guaranteed to be delicious to heal our wounds before heading home. That was when I remembered that I had bookmarked the Amish Creamery. It wasn't really close to where we were, but we decided to make the drive anyhow. I was so happy that we did. Delicious homemade ice cream in fun flavors, jars of jellys and jams. Baked goods lining the counter. Refrigerators full of more pints and gallons of ice creams. Yes...this was a very good call. I ordered half Peanut Butter Cup and half Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream and my Husband ordered his treat (I was so distracted by mine that I am not even sure what he had). Then, we browsed the little shop while we ate our dessert. The Peanut Butter Cup was the best that I have ever had. It was packed full of tiny peanut butter cups and had a nice, rich flavor. However, the Strawberry Cheesecake was my absolute favorite. It had chunks of strawberries and chunks of actual cheesecake in it. The strawberries tasted fresh and weren't hard and frozen like fruit sometimes gets in ice cream. It was perfect. We also picked up a jar of homemade apple butter and peanut butter marshmallow spread while we were here....Yes.. PEANUT BUTTER MARSHMALLOW SPREAD. Amazing. The next time a beach restaurant lets me down, I know exactly where to go. We may even skip the food next time and head straight to the Amish Creamery.

It was late on a Saturday afternoon, and a thick fog had rolled into Madeira Beach. My family and I were making our way to the car after a fun day of browsing local businesses when I noticed Amish Creamery. As I've heard it, anything Amish is usually known for being higher quality, so I figured we should at least take a look at the store. Amish Creamery is mostly known as an ice cream shop, but when you walk in you'll see an array of goodies. I honestly saw at least five things I wanted to walk out of the store with that day, but I restrained myself. They had a wall lined with jams, rows of popcorn and pasta, and cold cases of pies and cheeses (the cheddar bacon cheese looked especially tempting). I made a mental note of everything I'd like to pick up on the next trip, then headed over to the ice cream. They had flavors I'd seen before and flavors I hadn't, including one called Trashcan (a mash up of flavors that was as far from trash as you could get). My 6 year old and I were going to split a scoop, so I wanted to pick something we'd both like. When I brought up the birthday cake flavor Bobby enthusiastically agreed. It looked just like other birthday cake ice creams I'd had before, with an off-white hue and flecks of color from the flat sprinkles. I honestly wasn't expecting much, but when we both took our first bite our facial expressions must have been hilarious. Bobby and I both were visibly excited. "This tastes just like birthday cake, mommy!" I heard him say with high-pitched surprise before diving in for another bite. And he was right. The ice cream was luxuriously creamy, with a subtle crunch from the sprinkles and the taste of fresh birthday cake. I felt like it was my birthday without the gloom of turning a year older. Wonderful! I would make the trip to Madeira just for a stop at Amish Creamery. I can't wait to come back for more ice cream and other tongue-wagging goodies.

Simply fantastic!! Great assortment of homemade ice cream, reasonable prices, and the friendliest staff. I would recommend the Italian ice, trash can, or coconut almond and kahlua crunch side by side. We were on vacation and soooo glad to come across this gem. Please do yourself a favor and stop in if you're in the area!!

Believe the hype - this place has the BEST ice cream. The guy behind the counter was more than helpful and have my family of 4 all the samples we could want, and did it cheerfully. We ended up leaving with a mix of chocolate, birthday cake, almond joy, mudslide, and plantation praline cups...and a half gallon of praline...and homemade oatmeal raisin cookies. Everything was amazing, and we'll go back before the end of the trip.

What a great place! Don't be turned off by the exterior of the building or the really long red light we had to wait at. The ice cream was so good, but the best part was the super friendly man who served us! He was the best! Definitely stop by if you are near Madeira Beach!

Yum. Lots of flavors of hand-dipped ice cream and they also have soft-serve ice cream and yogurt If that is your preference.

The best! Plantation Praline is the best ice cream I've ever had. Can't wait to go back!

We had a delightful experience at Amish creamery. My parents and my children went here for ice cream after dinner. I first called to see how late they were open and the person on the phone concluded our conversation with 'have a fantastic night.' The establishment is clean and both workers were so friendly. The ice cream is delicious with many selections. Planation praline, strawberry cheesecake and cookie dough were all wonderful. I would recommend it and will return again.

Delicious Ice Cream! The Amish Creamery is a cool little shop! We tried the Butter Pecan and it was delicious! Very creamy, buttery and oh so flavorful! We also enjoyed browsing the shelves of specialty foods and ended up selecting split pretzels and pickled okra. The pretzels were amazing, so much better than typical grocery store pretzels. The owner was very nice and engaged us in a long conversation about his products, business and the Amish Community in Florida. The experience was delightful and we would definitely come here again!

A small ice cream shop and general store across the street from the beach. This place has awesome homemade ice cream - be sure to sample a few flavors before you decide! I personally love the Kahlua Krunch and Plantation Praline. The store side of the establishment has an assortment of treats from fudge to jams to cheese. Some really unique items and flavors. Definitely stop in here if you find yourself in the area.

Great tasting locally made ice cream. Superman and cookies and cream were both excellent. Friendly store owner and great service.

The BEST ice cream ever! We bring all our out of town guests here to complete their Florida experience. The TRASH CAN flavor is this wonderful vanilla ice cream loaded with bits of your favorite candies. My all-time favorite is the KAHLUA COFFEE TOFFEE CRUNCH--a coffee lover's dream ice cream. Their PISTACHIO ice cream is amazing. Try their COCONUT ice cream. And the DARK CHERRY Try them all! The toughest part of your visit is making a selection. Which means you'll have to come back for the rest.

My family and I came here for the first time tonight. I'd been waiting to try it for a long time and I am so glad we decided to stop in. They offer an assortment of homemade ice creams along with frozen yogurt and other baked goods. Some of their ice cream selections are packaged for you to take home. My sister and I tried the peanut butter chocolate ice cream and my grandmother tried the pistachio. They were both creamy and flavorful. The peanut butter chocolate had actual peanut butter cups in it. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. Prices weren't bad for getting ice cream near the beach. If you're in the area, don't miss this place!

Owner is a surly, nasty, greedy "little" man. He actually screamed at my wife for daring to ask for a few samples before purchasing a *second* order of ice cream. He already KNEW she was a paying customer, but demanded "evidence" of a second customer. Then he proceeded to throw her change at her, across the counter. Seriously, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, there are only about 1,000 other options in the area. NOTE: You will find some other reviews from people with similar experiences where the owner claims the review was for his "competitor"; don't believe the hype, it most certainly is THIS guy, Mr. "Amish Creamery Company".

Best ice cream ever. Get a cone or take it home in a container! I love their butter and bacon.

Extremely fresh ice cream. Flavors are not all that inventive. And the mix-ins are too skimpy. Like for example, if you get cookies and cream ice cream here, the Oreos are few and far between. They skimp on ingredients. Another disappointing Florida ice cream joint.

Great tasting ice cream, many Amish meats, cheeses and other variety of foods. Easy a go-to place for milk shakes, ice cream to eat here or take home. Next time I'm getting the fresh cream butter...

Aside from the wonderful ice cream, they carry excellent Lebanon Balogna. My husband is from PA and we don't have it in GA. They carry other PA Dutch specialties as well, like Martin's Potato Chips!

Wow very overpriced ice cream and goods. Save your money and go to a candy and ice cream place down and around the corner, for better ice cream and better ambience. The evening we visited this establishment the owner was busy yelling at people whom he deemed should not be parking in his parking lot. He seemed like a real jerk the way he was talking to people. By the way the parking lot was almost empty save for a few cars.

Whenever I go to Saint Petersburg to visit family and friends, I look forward to visiting Amish Creamery. They have the best ice cream! They also have plenty of other good foods, and are located a close walk from the shoreline. The ice cream is unbeatable. The flavor is very natural and not overly sweetened or adulterated like what you find at other ice cream shops. This is real, traditional style ice cream, not soft-serve high fructose junk. And there are so many flavors! One of my favorite things about this place is that the product is locally made, and the ingredients mostly locally sourced. This is extremely important for environmental, economic and quality control purposes. Come here and try the Florida made Florida strawberry ice cream, and feel good about it!

Stopped in after a walk on the beach. We had "Trashcan"and "Plantation Praline". Both were excellent! Service with a smile as the other reviews mentioned. They also had "Superman" ice cream with blue, red and gold layers for the kiddies. The Amish market has all kinds of interesting food items also.

We love going here for ice cream! It's delicious and they are so friendly and nice! My brother buys a product for leg cramps on the store side-and it works so well that he stocks up every time he's in town! Very cool place! Don't miss it!

While I cant review the ice cream I can offer my opinion on the customer service- very rude! I went there on the spur of the moment with my kids to get ice cream on Saturday night. I noticed their was an ATM sign in the window so figured they didn't take debit/ credit cards- after a few seconds I decided to run in and see how much it was to use the ATM- I asked the guy behind the counter if he knew what the fee was- since it wasn't posted on the machine- he told me $2.50 - (my bank would charge another $2.00) so for $15.00 in ice cream wasn't worth me paying $4.50 in fees to eat theirs. I started to walk out and the guy makes a rude comment in a packed store "come back when you can spend more time"- I turned around and said, I'm sorry- I didn't realize you did not take cards until I got here- and all I asked was how much the ATM charged. He replied- well there is a sign up that says ATM.- which I clearly saw, but to make me feel like I was "cheap" because I made the decision not to pay those fees to eat their ice cream was uncalled for, I was embarrassed by his remark and had he just said "have a good night" - I would have revisited his business when I actually had cash on me- I obviously wasn't the only person who found his comment rude, as I was leaving a couple of girls that were in the store smiled at me as they shook their head and call him a pr&%k. Hes something to remember if anyone from that establishment is reading this- there are tons of ice cream places on the beach- making rude comments to customers is a sure way of loosing customers and sending them elsewhere. From the business I saw when I went in there- I think you may make out better if you get off the cheap wagon yourself and get a card machine. You lost out on at least $15.00-20.00 in sales and a family that would be a life long customers if treated right-
